YUP – made a BIG gaffe at the office today. Amidst all the Monday morning quarterbacking and mundane chatter about last night’s Walking Dead episode; suddenly I blurted out loudly “I’ve decided to lose 20 lbs. and start taking my CBD oil every day”. An awkward silence fell over the break room – then it emptied out pretty fast. I don’t know my co-workers too well. Generally, I work from home. My trips to the store, for our Monday morning pow-wows used to be something I looked forward to – now, suddenly, I felt silly. Why did I think these relative strangers gave a damn about what I decided to do? I tried to forget about it, so I wouldn’t feel embarrassed saying my “goodbyes” as I left. I will be honest. It kinda bummed me out.
15 minutes on the road, my email notifications started 3, 4, then 5, 6, 7 times. It was apparent something was going on. When I pulled over and opened the emails…my day took a wild 180. Each email was from someone that was in the break room earlier that morning. Every person had either lost weight or was a REAL BELIEVER in the power of daily bio-availability (steady dosing) of CBD oil. The notes were so encouraging. They offered inspiration, tips for changing habits and even a FALL CBD RECIPE (thanks, Marie!). So, I was absolutely wrong. These were not emails from co-workers that did not care – they were messages of inspiration from people who have been there…and pulled it off! Their weight loss ideas were…interesting. But the advice on managing a daily CBD routine was essential! The guidance I received makes me feel more confident that I CAN successfully implement a lifestyle change. Now instead of trepidation, I feel a burning desire to try and live a full, healthy life again.
These were my 3 favorite tips:
- Don’t set yourself up for failure. If the oil isn’t your style, consider other CBD choices.
- If you do benefit from a daily CBD oil routine and experience break-through pain or signs of inflammation; it is easy to add 2 extra drops in the a.m. & p.m. on those rougher days. This small bump in dose should provide an extended (or expedited) period of relief.
- Many folks found that during stressful times (they mentioned the holidays & illnesses) was when they used edible CBD products. 2 people specifically liked Tasty Hemp Oil’s – CBD Gummy Bears (at 25mg. ea.) And Marie sends her favorite CBD Zucchini Soup recipe.
CHILLED OR WARM CBD ZUCCHINI SOUP
- 2 lbs. Zucchini
- 2 shallots minced
- 4 tbsp. Butter
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 tsp. curry powder
- 26-28 oz. of chicken stock (comes in 32 oz. pkg. but I think 28oz. makes ideal texture)
Melt butter over low heat in large sauté pan. Add minced shallots and cook 2 minutes. Do not brown. Turn heat to medium and add the thinly sliced zucchini. Cook until completely tender. Turn off heat. Add 1 tsp. curry powder; add cayenne pepper to taste.
Pour cooked zucchini and stock in 2 batches into blender. Pulse soup until desired texture 20-30 seconds. Blend both batches and stir in CBD oil. May be served warm* or chill in fridge for 1hr to serve cool. Top with croutons & dollop of sour cream or serve warm with small baguettes that have been sliced on bias, brushed w/olive oil and toasted in 350 degree oven until edges are just brown. ENJOY!
*Do not reheat soup AFTER adding CBD oil. This may reduce or effect potency.
